Third Year In a Row - MMPN-Detroit Show Up to Volunteer

Securing a Mary Mahoney Professional Nurse (MMPN) volunteer for an event involves more than just a simple phone call. It requires the non-profit organization following a formal procedure to have your request included in their monthly meeting agenda. Writer/Director Timberly Robinson eagerly anticipates receiving the email from Carman Brandon, the President of MMPN-Detroit notifying her that several nurses will volunteer.

It is always reassuring to have nurses present on standby in case there is a medical emergency with the cast. The presence of Dr. Marie Shoulders and Artis Dowdell at this year's play, which returned to the Marygrove Conservancy Theatre where it all began, was very special. At the end of curtain call, there is an exhale knowing that the nurses did not need to leave their seats and could enjoy the show. Reflections of the play from Dr. Shoulders is captured in a post-show interview https://youtube.com/shorts/FjAp2vXIlTk?feature=share.
